There are many people who need to correct their smile for health and aesthetic reasons. However, not all of them are interested in wearing braces. For these individuals, there used to be no other option. Now, there is Invisalign.

About Invisalign

The Invisalign system does not rely on metal brackets and wires to straighten teeth. Instead, it uses invisible and removable aligners that look similar to teeth whitening trays. These aligners are made from medical-grade plastic and are incredibly comfortable when compared to the metal components of braces.

Each aligner is made specifically for the patient that will be using them. Their dental anatomy is mapped using 3D imaging technology. The program uses their current tooth position as the starting point, their ideal tooth position as the finishing point, and then designs all the aligners based on the best way to move the teeth.

Each aligner moves the teeth a little bit further until ideal positioning is achieved. The patient swaps out aligners every two weeks, furthering their progress. Office visits are about once every two months and treatment is complete within 15 months on average.

Invisalign doesn’t work for everyone, but it does work in the majority of cases. To find out if it is right for you, schedule a consultation.
